At the Vesting of the Bishop, we sing the Hymn to the Mother of God from the Liturgy “It is meet..” When he is vested, we sing Ton Despotin. This is also sung at the end of the Liturgy.
After the 3rd antiphon, Come let us worship is sung by the clergy first, then the choir repeats it.
After the Entrance, we sing Is polla eti – Bortniansky’s trio setting – while the bishop censes the altar.
The simpler setting of Is polla eti is sung at the following times:
- After the Gospel, we sing ‘Glory to you O Lord’, then Is polla eti
- Immediately after the Cherubic Hymn
- After communion – before ‘We have seen the true light’
- After the final blessing – Is polla eti followed by Ton Despotin
‘And each and all’ is sung twice – once after the Deacon’s commemoration ‘…and all the people’ and again after the usual prayer ‘Among the first…’
